Assessment of the Perturbed Chain-Statistical Associating Fluid Theory Equation of State against a Benchmark Database of High-Quality Binary-System Data

The perturbed chain-statistical associating fluid theory (PC-SAFT) equation of state (EoS) is applied, and its performance assessed using a reliable free-to-access benchmark thermodynamic database developed by the authors. A total 200 non-electrolytic binary systems are included in database, which divided into nine groups according to character components, that is, their ability be involved hydrogen bond. properties based on assessment performed include two-phase vapor–liquid liquid–liquid equilibrium, three-phase vapor–liquid–liquid critical point, azeotropic enthalpy mixing, heat capacity mixing data. specific procedure for calculation deviations between model predictions experimental data grading applied previously published proposed methodology. PC-SAFT EoS implemented with classical rules, no induced association scheme, regressed interaction parameters. results discussed, characteristics respect different families mixtures analyzed.
